Age Calculator
An age calculator works out the exact time between a date of birth and another date — not just rounded years, but precise years, months and days. FreeToolsKit's calculator also totals your life in months, weeks and days and counts down to your next birthday. Dates are calculated in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

- Filling a form that asks for age on a specific cut-off date, such as a school or sports season.
- Checking whether someone meets a minimum age requirement on a given day.

- Working out a baby's age in weeks and months for a health appointment.
- Settling the classic argument about who is older — down to the day.
Frequently asked questions
How is exact age calculated?
The calculator subtracts the birth date from the target date and borrows days and months the way a calendar works — so if your birthday has not happened yet this year, that year is not counted. The result matches how ages are officially reckoned.
Can I calculate age at a future date?
Yes. Change the “age at date” field to any future date to see exactly how old you will be then — handy for eligibility cut-offs and planning around milestone birthdays.
What if the date of birth is in the future?
The tool asks you to check the dates instead of showing a negative age. A birth date later than the target date means one of the two dates has been entered the wrong way round.
How does the next-birthday countdown work?
It finds the next calendar occurrence of your birth month and day — this year if it is still ahead, otherwise next year — and counts the whole days between today and that date. February 29 birthdays are counted on February 28 in non-leap years.
